Many multi-band radios from this period were works of art. Their band spreads had different colours to "show off" the ability to receive "Police", "CB", "TV" and "AirBand" etc. Their design also included many knobs, switches and long extending aerials; sometimes two or even three! It is very likely that an intending purchaser would actually choose to buy based on aesthetics, colours and implied power of reception rather than actual technical specifications! Nowadays many will be well-used and scruffy but there still are good ones to find! Obviously the better the condition, the more desirable the radio will be for displaying! Finding one that is both physically good and working is a bonus as it can be demonstrated and, you never know, you may even receive transmissions that you have never heard before! Most of these sets will be found on Ebay, although keep your eyes open at car boot sales as a bargain may be lurking under a table! Whilst some people over-price these radios, it really depends on how much you want it! Expect to pay between £10 - £35 plus postage. If you have an interest in old multi-band radios, why not visit my radio pages?
There are also brand-new vintage style receivers available and these will give you both Art-Deco looks with modern performance receiving both digital and FM stations!

Sometimes radios pretend to be other things; or is it the other way around? Amazon offers an interesting combination of a Radio and Toaster! This brilliant device certainly saves space as you don't need to have a stand-alone radio in your kitchen (Which most of us have)! A toaster is certainly a must, and this one will play your favourite radio stations as well!
A very unusual item and certainly a talking point!
